The Australian Federal Court has ruled in favour of Santos in the case of Munkara v Santos NA Barossa Pty Ltd — dismissing the application and discharging the injunction that prevented pipelay activities south of the kilometre 86 (KP86) point along the Barossa Gas Export Pipeline. Shell has completed the restart of operations at the Pierce field in the UK Central North Sea, following a significant upgrade to allow gas to be produced after years of the field producing only oil. On 8 April production started from Equinor’s Bauge subsea field in the Norwegian Sea. Bauge is tied back to the recently upgraded Njord platform. Recoverable reserves in Bauge are estimated at 50 million barrels of oil equivalent, mainly oil.
