NSW petroleum PEP-11 permit kept alive despite opposition

The Federal Government has decided to block debate of the Stopping PEP-11 Bill despite opposition to the project from Prime Minister Scott Morrison and a group of Liberal MPs. PEP-11, or Petroleum Exploration Permit 11, is a 4,576-square-kilometre lease operated by Advent Energy to drill for oil and gas just off the coast from Manly to Newcastle in New South Wales. Woodside to construct hydrogen production facility in Perth

Woodside, with the support of the Western Australian state government, is planning to establish a world-scale hydrogen and ammonia production facility at a site in southern metropolitan Perth. A hybrid micro-grid that will power 13 oil pump loads in South Australia’s Cooper Basin has been completed. Queensland bioproducts pilot plant commences operations

New technology is bringing Queensland one step closer to a $1 billion sustainable, export-oriented industrial biotechnology and bioproducts sector. Mercurius has finalised commissioning and is about to commence operations at its pilot plant that will produce valuable renewable chemicals, diesel and jet fuel from sugarcane waste. TotalEnergies and China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) have signed an agreement to jointly develop a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production unit at a SINOPEC refinery in China.
