APA Group has awarded Worley Ltd. an engineering services framework agreement to support its gas transmission and storage network across Australia.
The contract, which carries an initial three-year term, will see Worley act as the exclusive partner under a single-contractor model.
A primary focus of the partnership will involve supporting a nationwide program of works to expand capacity across APA’s gas infrastructure assets, strengthening domestic energy security.
To optimise efficiency and reduce execution risks, Worley will utilise digital enablement tools and standardised reference designs.
This approach will allow the engineering team to facilitate highly replicated project deliveries across APA’s diverse portfolio of assets.
The majority of the engineering services will be executed out of Worley’s Brisbane office, supplemented by specialist technical support from its Melbourne hub.
The Australian operations will also work in close collaboration with Worley’s Global Integrated Delivery (GID) team based in India to streamline project delivery.
“Long-term portfolio partnerships are an important part of how Worley works with customers to deliver value over time,” said Chris Ashton, CEO of Worley.
“We are pleased to support the APA team with this portfolio of assets and to continue building our relationship with APA across Australia’s energy infrastructure sector.”
The deal comes at an important time for the domestic energy sector, as gas continues to play an essential role in maintaining power grid reliability and firming renewable energy sources amid Australia’s ongoing energy transition.
