Venture Global Inc. and Japan’s Mitsui & Co. Ltd. have agreed to a new long-term liquified natural gas (LNG) sales and purchase agreement, marking Venture Global’s third-long term contract with a Japanese company.
Under the sales agreement, Mitsui will purchase one million tonnes per annum of liquified natural gas from Venture Global for 20 years, starting in 2029.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, said: “This collaboration between our two companies will strengthen energy security, enhance the balance of trade, and deepen the long-standing ties between our nations. This agreement builds upon our existing long-term relationships with Japanese companies, and we are deeply grateful for their continued trust in Venture Global. We look forward to delivering LNG safely and reliably for many years to come.”
The deal brings Venture Global’s total long-term LNG commitments in 2025 to 6.75 million tonnes per annum.
Venture Global is an American producer and exporter of low-cost LNG with over 100 million tonnes per annum in production, construction or development. Venture Global is developing a carbon capture and sequestration project at each of its LNG facilities.
