Venture Global Inc. has signed two new binding agreements with TotalEnergies and Vitol for the purchase of additional US LNG.
Venture Global, one of the US’ largest LNG exporters, confirmed a new agreement with French energy company TotalEnergies for the purchase of approximately 0.85 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG for a five-year term, scheduled to commence in 2026.
Simultaneously, Venture Global has extended its existing relationship with Vitol, the world’s leading independent energy trader.
The pair have agreed to increase their current five-year contract to 1.7 Mtpa, up from the 1.5 Mtpa previously announced in March 2026.
Venture Global CEO Mike Sabel said the agreements reflect a deep industry confidence in the company’s ability to scale production quickly.
“These agreements reflect the continued confidence and trust in our ability to deliver reliable, low-cost U.S. LNG to global markets quickly and at scale as demand for energy security continues to grow,” Sabel said.
“By offering customers short-, medium-, and long-term supply options, we are providing the flexibility and certainty they need to deliver LNG where it is needed most.”
Both contracts will be sourced from Venture Global’s extensive Louisiana-based portfolio, which includes the Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG projects. The company is currently managing over 100 Mmtpa of capacity across various stages of production and development.
Venture Global began producing LNG from its first facility in 2022 and is now one of the largest LNG exporters in the United States. The company’s vertically integrated business includes assets across the LNG supply chain including LNG production, natural gas transport, shipping and regasification.
Vitol is a long-established participant in LNG markets, having commenced LNG trading in the mid-2000s.
It has a diversified global LNG portfolio of contracts and equity positions, enabling it to provide customers with tailor-made supply solutions on a short and long-term basis.
In 2025, Vitol delivered 23mMT of LNG and delivered 1,800TWh of natural gas.
