EnerMech, a global provider of integrated mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation solutions, has been awarded a significant pre-commissioning contract for the ONE GUYANA Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel by SBM Offshore.
The FPSO, commissioned for ExxonMobil Guyana, is scheduled to arrive in Guyanese waters later this year.
This latest contract builds upon EnerMech’s successful track record in the region, having previously executed pre-commissioning work for all three FPSOs currently producing offshore Guyana: Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity.
The company’s expertise in the area was further solidified by its recent acquisition of the Gas-to-Energy Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Project.
The ONE GUYANA FPSO represents a significant advancement in offshore oil production capabilities.
Designed to produce approximately 250,000 barrels of oil per day, the vessel boasts an associated gas treatment capacity of 450 million cubic feet per day and a water injection capacity of 300,000 barrels per day.
The FPSO will be spread-moored in water depths of about 1,800 metres and can store around two million barrels of crude oil.
Under the terms of the contract, EnerMech will perform critical pre-commissioning operations, including:
- Offshore risers leak testing
- Gas injection riser de-watering
- Umbilical electrical and fiber optic testing
- Installation of interconnecting tubing
- Flushing and testing of critical equipment
Charles Davison Jr., CEO of EnerMech, expressed pride in the company’s selection for this pivotal project, stating: “This award builds on EnerMech’s extensive experience with the three preceding FPSOs, demonstrating our commitment to delivering high-quality service in the region.”
Frazer Thomson, EnerMech‘s VP of Operations in the Americas, highlighted the complexity of the pre-commissioning scope, emphasising the company’s ability to deploy specialised personnel and advanced technology for deepwater operations.
The ONE GUYANA FPSO is part of the Yellowtail development, the fourth project within the Stabroek block, located approximately 200 kilometres offshore Guyana.
ExxonMobil Guyana Limited operates the block with a 45 per cent interest, alongside partners Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. (30 per cent) and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited (25 per cent).
As Guyana continues to emerge as a significant player in the global oil market, the successful deployment and operation of the ONE GUYANA FPSO will mark another milestone in the country’s rapidly expanding offshore energy sector.
