Innovative subsea leaders recognised with awards

28 Aug, 2019
Chairman Marius Martens addresses the audience

Friday 23 August saw Subsea Energy Australia (SEA) host the eleventh annual Australian Subsea Business Awards at the Perth Town Hall in Western Australia. During the course of the evening industry leaders, current and future were presented with well-deserved awards.

The winner in the ‘Innovation and Technology’ category was Pressure Dynamics.  This award recognises the development of innovative products or services within the subsea sector.

In the ‘Collaboration’ category, the award went to Neptune Energy and GTechnipFMC. This award recognises outstanding collaboration between a company or industry body and at least one other organisation that results in the delivery of improved skill or service development.

The award for ‘Emerging Talent’ went to Chien Foo, Genesis Oil and Gas. This award recognises rising stars in the Australian subsea industry with less than four years professional experience.

The award for ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ was won by Azimah Yusof from Atlas Professionals.  This award recognises individuals, organisations or companies that have demonstrated a positive impact in support of diversity and inclusion consistent with SEA’s D and I Pillars.  These include support for Age, Culture, Sexuality and Gender.

the ‘Company of the Year’ award went to TechnipFMC.  This award recognises those companies committed to engaging local suppliers and staff, and engagement with the Australian subsea market.

During the course of the evening Marius Martens, Chairman of Subsea Energy Australia, impressed on the crowd the importance of promoting the Australian Subsea Industry locally and globally, as well as nurturing the future leaders of the industry.

“As an industry, we have a lot to be proud of; Australia has become the largest exporter of gas in the world, the majority of which is collected subsea, using infrastructure that our industry put there. However, we still need to get better at communicating this, both locally and internationally. This is why tonight is so very important.”, said Mr Martens.
