Sentinel Subsea, a specialist in passive subsea integrity monitoring, has successfully installed its innovative WellSentinel systems for two major projects in Australia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion.
The first project, undertaken in collaboration with Baker Hughes, involved the deployment of two WellSentinel Coral systems for a major client’s decommissioning efforts.
These systems were installed on two 18 ¾” wellheads, enabling continuous monitoring of temporarily suspended wells in a remote field.
The installation was carried out from a vessel of opportunity, streamlining the operation without requiring in-well intervention.
In the second project, Sentinel Subsea deployed two WellSentinel Coral-Frond Hybrid systems.
These advanced systems, designed to monitor suspended wells, feature an enhanced Coral design with a Frond-type gathering structure, allowing for monitoring an area approximately five metres external to the wellhead.
Scope Engineering, a local partner, manufactured components for both projects, while additional passive monitoring elements were shipped from Sentinel’s headquarters in Aberdeen to Australia.
This collaboration highlights the company’s commitment to supporting local industries while delivering global solutions.
Neil Gordon, CEO of Sentinel Subsea, expressed pride in the successful installations, stating: “The successful installation of these two significant projects in Australia is a testament to the reliability and effectiveness of our WellSentinel systems.”
He emphasised the company’s dedication to providing innovative monitoring solutions that enhance safety and efficiency in subsea operations.
