C-Kore Systems’ subsea testing tools are taking the strain out of Australian operators’ decommissioning campaigns. C-Kore’s Sensor Monitor unit allows operators to read subsea sensors by plugging directly into the trees, giving data that is otherwise unobtainable without cumbersome and expensive workover tooling. With this capability, operators can easily verify the state of trees and avoid the unintentional release of hydrocarbons.
Originally designed for a North Sea decommissioning campaign to ensure the safety of subsea divers, C-Kore’s Sensor Monitor unit is designed to be versatile but easy to use. It supports an extensive range of pressure, temperature, positional and other sensors.
The Sensor Monitor ensures a safe working environment for decommissioning campaigns without requiring the presence of the Subsea Control Module. Greg Smith, C-Kore’s Operation’s Director commented: “We created the Sensor Monitor in line with our design philosophy of keeping it simple while providing all the data the user needs. Our automated tools are easy to deploy and operate without the need for C-Kore personnel being present. The combination of simplicity, accuracy and reliability introduces significant operational savingsto testing campaigns.”
Cynthia Pikaar, Sales & Marketing Director of C-Kore continued: “We have a great track record helping operators globally on fault-finding and new installation campaigns. It was a natural step to expand our capabilities to the decommissioning market. The great feedback we have received from our customers has validated how useful our tools are on decommissioning campaign. Not only for the cost savings they bring, but also ensuring a safe working environment.”
