Fluenta, providing ultrasonic sensing technology for flare gas measurement, has announced a strategic partnership with Pioneer Industrial Corp. to enhance its customer offering across 12 Midwest states in the United States.
This collaboration comes at a crucial time, as new Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regulations are set to take effect by the end of the year, placing increased emphasis on accurate flare gas measurement and emissions compliance.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other federal bodies, including the BLM, are spearheading efforts to minimise the environmental impact of energy production.
The recent launch of MethaneSat has further intensified scrutiny on flare emissions worldwide, highlighting the need for precise measurement of flare gas and an improved understanding of combustion efficiency and methane slip.
Fluenta’s partnership with Pioneer Industrial Corp. covers 12 key states. including Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Western Kentucky, Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Minnesota.
This alliance provides operators in these states access to Fluenta’s innovative flare gas measurement technology and Pioneer’s established support network.
Julian Dudley-Smith, Managing Director of Fluenta, emphasised the partnership’s significance: “Partnering with Pioneer Industrial Corp. allows us to better support operators in the Midwest with advanced flare gas measurement solutions.
“Pioneer’s deep industry knowledge and robust service infrastructure align perfectly with our mission to help operators comply with stringent environmental regulations and drive decarbonisation efforts.”
Chris Gugler, Director of Environmental, Process and Safety Instrumentation Division at Pioneer Industrial Corp., added: “This collaboration marks a significant step towards offering our customers top-tier solutions to meet evolving environmental standards.
“We are committed to helping the region’s oil, gas, and petrochemical industries achieve their sustainability goals while maintaining operational excellence.”
The timing of this partnership is particularly relevant given the ongoing climate emergency and the upcoming UN COP conference, which is expected to bring renewed pledges to limit methane emissions and increase investment support.
As regulatory pressures mount, Fluenta and Pioneer Industrial Corp. are poised to play a crucial role in helping Midwest operators navigate the evolving landscape of emissions compliance and environmental stewardship.
