In a significant move for the marine industry, Penske Australia & New Zealand has been awarded the distribution and support rights for Bergen Engines’ marine engine portfolio in the region.
This new agreement builds upon the existing partnership between the two companies, which previously covered Bergen’s land-based product range.
Bergen Engines, a leading manufacturer of medium-speed engines, is renowned for its high-quality and reliable products.
The company’s marine portfolio is particularly well-suited for a wide range of vessels, including naval ships, large tugs, fishing vessels, ferries, and cruise ships, as well as offshore oil and gas installations.
Matthew Smith, executive general manager of off-highway for Penske Australia & New Zealand, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership.
“With a very successful partnership to date with Bergen Engines, we are excited to be extending our relationship and expanding our customer offering,” Smith stated.
The new agreement allows Penske to offer comprehensive support to its marine customers in the region.
This addition complements Penske’s existing lineup, which includes the Rolls-Royce Power Systems’ mtu brand of engines.
Smith highlighted the expanded market coverage, noting that “Bergen’s high-powered medium-speed marine engines are rated between 1,460 kW and 9,600 kW”.
This partnership extension strengthens Penske’s position in the marine engine market, allowing the company to provide a more diverse range of solutions to its customers.
It also reinforces Bergen Engines’ commitment to expanding its global reach and ensuring reliable support for its products in key markets.
As the marine industry continues to evolve, this collaboration between Penske Australia & New Zealand and Bergen Engines is poised to deliver advanced, efficient, and reliable engine solutions to a broad spectrum of marine applications in the region.
