TotalEnergies Lubrifiants has unveiled a revolutionary new line of lubricants, marking a significant milestone in the automotive industry.
The company’s Quartz EV3R range for passenger cars and Rubia EV3R range for trucks are the first lubricants made from regenerated base oils to match the performance of conventional oils while gaining approval from major car manufacturers.
The innovative lubricants are the result of meticulous research and development by TotalEnergies Lubrifiants’ teams, who carefully selected high-quality regenerated base oils to formulate these premium, environmentally responsible products.
These regenerated base oils replace conventional ones without compromising quality, resulting in high-performance, eco-friendly lubricants.
This new range aligns with TotalEnergies Lubrifiants’ commitment to eco-design and the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Regenerate), promoting responsible management of end-of-life products and waste reduction.
Furthermore, the company has extended its environmental efforts to packaging, with 1L and 5L bottles made from 50 per cent recycled plastic.
The initial launch includes Quartz EV3R 10W-40 for passenger cars, with plans to expand the range in 2025 to include additional viscosity grades.
For heavy-duty vehicles, Rubia EV3R 15W-40 and 10W-30 are scheduled for release in the summer of 2024.
Pierre Duhot, Senior Vice President of Lubricants and Specialties at TotalEnergies, expressed pride in the new product line, stating: “TotalEnergies Lubrifiants is committed to accelerating the market’s transformation towards sustainability without compromising on performance and is leading the way with this first manufacturer-approved high-performance circular economy lubricants range.”
This launch represents a significant step forward in sustainable lubricant technology, demonstrating TotalEnergies’ dedication to providing innovative, high-performance, and environmentally friendly products for the automotive industry.
