Global consulting and engineering company Wood has just signed a three-year enterprise framework agreement (EFA) to continue supporting Shell’s global projects.
Wood will provide specialist consulting, engineering, procurement and project management services to Shell’s greenfield and brownfield projects — ensuring energy security and enabling energy transition projects focused on carbon capture, low-carbon fuels and hydrogen.
Wood CEO Ken Gilmartin said the award will continue a 70-year relationship between Shell and Wood, spanning more than 20 countries and numerous major projects.
“Complex project excellence is where we excel and we are aligned with Shell in our strategic ambitions to deliver the energy the world needs today while simultaneously delivering the energy transition at pace. We look forward to continuing to partner with Shell as we work to design a better energy future together,” said Gilmartin.
The partnership is contracted to last for three years, however, it does allow for two further one-year extensions.
All services will be supplied by Wood’s consulting and engineering teams in Europe, North America, Latin America, South-East Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
Wood seeks to enhance Shell assets worldwide through the decarbonisation, digitalisation and asset life extension solutions.
Shell is currently focused on decarbonising the company’s portfolio by investing in low or zero-carbon energy and transforming the energy system.
The oil and gas company is also aiming to address any remaining emissions from conventional fuels with solutions such as carbon capture, storage and carbon credits.
Wood has conducted over 175 carbon capture and storage (CCS) studies to date and has been at the forefront of the CCS market for the last 40 years.
