Beetaloo Energy has ramped up activity in the Beetaloo Basin as it reached major infrastructure and exploration milestones at its Carpentaria Pilot project.
The company confirmed that all civil works at the pilot site are now complete, and installation of the Carpentaria Gas Plant is actively ongoing. The project’s camp reopened in May and currently accommodates approximately 40 personnel, who have already successfully lifted the first compressor unit into place.
Logistics are also moving swiftly. The final two trucks transporting the second compressor unit and intercooler are currently in transit from Roma to the site. Beetaloo Energy expects to vacate and return the Roma yard lease by the end of the month.
Simultaneously, crew members have commenced installing gas gathering pipelines to connect the C-2H, C-3H, and C-5H pilot wells directly to the central processing facility.
Preparations to kick off the highly anticipated Extended Production Test (EPT) at the Carpentaria-5H (C-5H) well are also nearing completion.
Flow testing is scheduled to commence in mid-June, supported by newly installed, expanded water-handling infrastructure.
During initial clean-up operations in late 2025, the C-5H well demonstrated exceptional potential, delivering a peak gas flow rate of 11.2 terajoules (TJ) per day and a 30-day average of 7.1 TJ per day.

In addition to the pilot production push, exploration is expanding into the Western Beetaloo. Local contractor Wildman River Stock Contractors will begin land clearing in mid-June ahead of a 230-kilometre 2D seismic survey by Velseis, targeting a prospective resource area of more than 20 trillion cubic feet (TCF).
