After a few challenging years for the resources sector, positive economic signs are emerging and thanks to rising commodity prices, things are finally picking up in key mining states like Queensland.
The outlook for base metals prices, sustained by strong growth in global industrial production, is pointing to a ‘mini-boom’ for zinc, copper and nickel and a revival of mining activity in Mount Isa and the North-West province of the State.
The Queensland Government has put in place a blueprint to drive the next wave of resource development and new industry in the State North-West Minerals Province that will support the identification of new commercial deposits, mining exploration programs and investment promotions. The Government has also underlined its support for large-scale renewable energy developments, in particular, large-scale solar generation and hydro projects.
Informa Australia’s the Inaugural North-West Minerals and Energy Conference will complement the successful resources series of conferences focused on Northern Australia, including the Northern Territory Week & SEAAOC.
The North-West Minerals and Energy Conference agenda will offer delegates the opportunity to hear about and discuss:
- Mining and exploration in the North-West Province
- Operation updates
- Major project developments
- Opportunities in the renewable space and energy storage market
- Infrastructure
- Contracting and employment opportunities
