Woodside and Viva Energy have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to progress discussions on capacity rights at Viva Energy’s proposed LNG regasification terminal in Geelong, which could enable Woodside to supply LNG to the east coast Australian market. Coregas, part of Wesfarmers Group and the only Australian-owned gas company, has purchased a refuelling station and dispenser from Haskel Hydrogen Systems Group for Australia’s first commercial, hydrogen-powered heavy vehicle refuelling station at Coregas’ hydrogen production facility at Port Kembla, New South Wales. Buru Energy to spud Ungani oilfield development well

Buru Energy Limited is likely to spud its development well at Ungani Oilfield this week, with the mobilisation of the Ensign 963 rig to site approximately 60 per cent complete. The rig is being moved from the successful Rafael 1 exploration well Buru completed last week. Western Gas is pleased to announce that it has executed the formal contract with Valaris for the MS-1 semi-submersible rig to drill the Sasanof-1 exploration well. The Sasanof-1 exploration well is in permit WA-519-P in Commonwealth waters about 207 km northwest of Onslow, Western Australia. Melbana Energy Limited has completed the sale of its exploration permit WA-488-P, containing the Beehive prospect to EOG Australia. Melbana has received a payment of US$7.5 million from EOG Australia in consideration. The terms of the sale agreement provide for EOG Australia to make Contingent Additional Payments to Melbana totalling US$5 million, subject to EOG Australia making certain future elections in regard to the WA-488-P permit area. Final investment decisions have been made on the Scarborough and Pluto Train 2 developments, including new domestic gas facilities and modifications to Pluto Train 1 off WA's North West. The $16 billion liquefied natural gas development will see gas from the Scarborough resource processed at Woodside's Pluto LNG facility on the Burrup Peninsula, near Karratha. FFI gets planning go-ahead for Queensland hydrogen facility

Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has gained planning approval to build one of the world’s largest hydrogen equipment manufacturing facilities in Gladstone, Queensland. The Trion oil and gas project has received approval for its Social Impact Assessment from the Mexican Ministry for Energy. Located in the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 2,500 metres, approximately 180 kilometres off the Mexican coastline, Trion is a greenfield development that would represent the first oil production from Mexico’s deep water. Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar, INPEX CORPORATION, Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., and Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. have announced the signing of a collaboration agreement to conduct a joint feasibility study on e-methane production in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
