Amplitude Energy has reported record results for the first half of the 2026 financial year as higher realised gas prices and strong cost control led to an increase in production guidance for the full year.
The gas producer said underlying earnings rose 9 per cent year over year to AU$100.3 million in the six months ended December 31, 2025, while revenue rose 6 per cent to AU$141.5 million, demonstrating the company’s leverage to higher production and gas prices.
Amplitude said gas and oil production was up 3 per cent to 13.9 petajoules (PJ) equivalent per day, or 75.5 terajoules (TJ) equivalent per day, a record for the company 2.7 per cent higher than 73.5 TJ per day reported in the first half of 2025.
Sales revenue for the half amounted to AU$141.5 million, 6 per cent up from the prior-year period due to higher production at Orbost Gas Processing Plant (OGPP) and better average realised gas prices.
Amplitude Energy CEO Jane Norman said the results demonstrate the company’s continued track record.
“With records across all key operational and financial metrics in the first half, and further production and gas price improvements expected, Amplitude takes excellent momentum into the second half of 2026.
“Increased production guidance shows the confidence we have in our operational and engineering teams to continue our strong asset performance. Importantly we have done this while maintaining exemplary safety and environmental standards.”
The company increased its full-year production guidance to 73 to 77 TJe/day, or 26.6 to 28.1 PJe, up from its previous guidance of 69 to 74 TJe/day, or 25.2 to 27.0 PJe in total.
Amplitude Energy said the increase was due to OGPP outperforming expectations, with the top end upgraded production guidance range now assuming OGPP production rates moderately above its prior nameplate capacity of 68 TJ/day.
Meanwhile, Amplitude Energy continues to progress the East Coast Supply Project (ECSP), which intends to maximise use of existing Otway Basin infrastructure and bring gas supply to southeast Australia in 2028.
