British oil giant bp has awarded Halliburton an integrated service contract to support the first appraisal campaign at the deepwater Bumerangue field, located offshore Brazil.
The contract encompasses a comprehensive suite of well-construction and reservoir evaluation services aimed at fast-tracking the appraisal of bp’s major deepwater discovery.
Designed to streamline operations, Halliburton’s model will consolidate multiple drilling and evaluation services under a single framework to minimise operational complexity.
As part of the deployment, Halliburton will utilise its LOGIX digital automation platform and remote operation capabilities to drive operational consistency, enhance drilling execution, and boost overall efficiency throughout the offshore campaign.
The project relies heavily on connected digital workflows, linking data across well planning, real-time execution, and post-drilling evaluation.
By leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced drilling technologies, the system will deliver real-time data insights to optimise decision-making and accelerate reservoir evaluation during complex deepwater development.

The model aims to refine dynamic reservoir understanding and support future oil and gas production through automated well construction and end-to-end data integration.
While financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, the fast-track contract represents a key step in advancing bp’s exploration assets in Brazil’s prolific deepwater basins.
