Chevron Australia has announced a $1.2 million donation to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund in support of bush fire relief and recovery efforts in Perth’s north-east.
The donation will assist the Fund in providing much needed financial and hardship support to individuals and families impacted by the devastating fires.
Chevron Australia Managing Director, Al Williams, said the severity of the fires and its impacts to homes and livelihoods was of concern to all members of the Perth community.
“Our thoughts are with the affected families as well as emergency personnel fighting the fires and contributing to the recovery effort,” Williams said.
In addition to this contribution, Chevron Australia will match employee donations to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund and provide employees currently volunteering in the firefighting efforts with full leave entitlements.
In its donation to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund, Chevron Australia joins its peer companies in a coordinated industry response through the Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA bushfire community support initiative.
