In September 2020, Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison, announced the Australian Government gas-fired recovery to help Australia’s economy bounce back better and stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The gas-fired recovery will be delivered via a number of measures across three key action areas: unlocking supply, efficient transportation and empowering consumers.

The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) is currently seeking public submissions to inform measures such as: The National Gas Infrastructure Plan (NGIP); and establishing Wallumbilla as Australia’s gas hub.

Feedback will help DISER understand issues that require consideration in developing measures and identify who they need to consult with.
