Dräger Marine & Offshore — a provider of marine and offshore safety systems — has announced that it has surpassed expectations within its hire division, achieving a record-breaking year with a 16 per cent year-on-year increase in 2023 compared to the previous 12 months.
This growth has contributed significantly to the wider Dräger organisation, registering a remarkable 60 per cent increase in revenue over the last two years.
Dräger Marine & Offshore Head of Safety Marketing for the UK & Ireland David Head stated: “We are incredibly proud to be able to report such remarkable results that have genuinely surpassed our expectations.”
He attributed the success to the company’s facility in Dyce, which enables them to stock equipment available for hire and deployment straight away, addressing customers’ short-notice requirements.
This, coupled with budget restrictions across the industry, has been said to make hiring equipment a more appealing option for clients.
The growth in the volume of equipment being hired coincides with a period of budget constraints, making hiring an attractive and low-risk option for companies facing fast-changing work scopes and unplanned maintenance.
The ability to provide high-quality equipment promptly to help customers meet their business goals has been a key factor in the company’s success.
The record-setting year comes just under two years since Dräger opened its new, dedicated facility in Dyce, following a decade at its Bridge of Don site.
The move to the larger, state-of-the-art facility, along with a £600,000 investment in the hire fleet, has yielded positive results.
In 2023, Dräger saw an increase of more than 20 per cent in the number of rental quotations, highlighting its commitment to meeting the industry’s demand for safety solutions.
Head also credited the company’s success to its dedicated team, including sales, engineers, customer services, and trainers, whose commitment to providing top-level safety solutions has driven the year of spectacular success.
