Australian oil and gas company Brookside Energy Limited has achieved commercial oil production at the company’s expanded Bradbudry Area of Interest (AOI), located within the Arbuckle Uplift — Ardmore Basin in Oklahoma.
The Juanita Well project commenced production after successful completion and comingling of two separate sands in the highly productive Simpson Group.
Production has averaged 112 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) over the course of five days, with an initial peak rate of 130 BOPD.
Fluid movement is being managed by the size of the pumping unit to ensure optimum reservoir performance and maximum recovery as Brookside learns more about the capability of the two zones — the Juanita Well and the Thelma Well.
Production will remain focused on these two zones for now, with testing of the remaining horizons to take place in the future.
Brookside Energy Limited Manager Director David Prentice said the company is very encouraged by these early results from the Juanita Well.
“With commercial production now established from these two zones, we are looking forward to gathering more data that will guide us in terms of next steps for this exciting new area of interest. “This is another great result for the team and we are looking forward to providing further updates to our shareholders and investors on the Bradbury AOI,” said Prentice.
The Juanita Well is a vertical well, drilled by Dan D Drilling Rig 7 and operated by Black Mesa Energy, LLC (a controlled subsidiary of Brookside) in the Bradbury AOI.
