Hartshead Resources NL — in association with its joint venture partner RockRose (UKCS2) Limited — has successfully concluded the Pipeline Route Survey for the offtake pipeline routes associated with the Anning and Somerville field developments.
With importance on safety, the survey was meticulously executed using the Gardline MV Ocean Observer and spanned over a month, reporting zero incidents or accidents.
The acquisition of comprehensive data was achieved, with over 1000 kilometres of seismic lines run, 52 Cone Penetration Tests (CPT), 23 Vibrocores for defining seabed conditions, and 27 seabed samples with camera transects to ascertain potential habitats and contribute to the environmental baseline survey.
The laboratory analysis of the gathered material will be in line with global standards and results are anticipated for release in early 2024.
This will substantially aid in the formulation of Environmental Statement for the development of Anning and Somerville.
Additionally, the culmination of this rigorous survey has paved the way for the issuance of the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) contract.
As part of Hartshead’s commitment to quality and excellence, five of the world’s leading pipeline and subsea installation contractors have been approached with this invitation.
Hartshead COO Keith Bush said: “We would like to thank the team involved in performing the survey work with extreme diligence and attention to safety, working in rapidly changing weather conditions and showing remarkable flexibility when changes to the programme were required. The data gathered will allow us to progress the Environmental Statement as planned and ensure that tenders for the pipeline contracts reflect the real conditions on the seabed.”
Adhering to the company’s ethos, the ITT responses, expected this quarter, will undergo a systematic evaluation ensuring transparency, fairness, and competitiveness throughout the tender process.
The awarding of the tender is set to be announced in early 2024.
