Origin Energy Limited has announced a farm-in with Buru Energy for seven permits covering approximately 20,000 square kilometres in Western Australia’s prospective Canning Basin.
Under the agreements, Origin secures a 50 per cent equity share in five permits with Buru Energy, and a 40 per cent equity share in two permits with Buru and Rey Resources in exchange for carrying $12.3 million of their share of work program costs.
The total estimated spend by Origin over a two-year period is expected to be roughly $35 million inclusive of a two-well drilling program and seismic work.

NWS project participants execute gas processing agreements
The North West Shelf (NWS) Project participants have executed fully-termed gas processing agreements (GPAs) for processing third-party gas through the NWS Project facilities with Woodside Burrup Pty Ltd, in respect of gas from the Pluto fields, and with subsidiaries of Mitsui & Co Ltd and Beach Energy Limited, in respect of the Waitsia Gas Project Stage 2.
Woodside states that the execution of the GPAs is a key milestone in the transformation of the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) into a third-party gas tolling facility and secures gas to fill emerging processing capacity.

APA announces first hybrid energy microgrid investment
APA Group has announced a two-phase power expansion agreement with Gruyere Gold Mine in Western Australia, which will increase total installed capacity by 45 per cent from 45 megawatts (MW) to 64MW.
The agreement includes the creation of the Gruyere Hybrid Energy Microgrid (Gruyere Microgrid) - APA’s first hybrid energy microgrid investment. Total capital expenditure for all expansion works will be approximately $38 million [1].

Santos and Mitsubishi agree on Barossa LNG supply
Santos has signed a binding long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) Supply and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Diamond Gas International Pte Ltd (DGI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, for the supply of LNG from the Barossa project.
The Barossa gas field, 300 kilometres north of Darwin, sits within Santos’ Northern Australia portfolio and is one of the company’s core long-life, natural gas assets.

Agreement executed for long term gas supply
Blue Energy Limited has executed a non-binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) with EnergyAustralia for the supply of 100 petajoules (PJ) of gas at Wallumbilla over 10 years from Blue Energy’s Northern Bowen Basin ATP814 coal seam gas tenure.
It is the first such agreement that will allow North Bowen Basin gas to be delivered into the main East Coast domestic market to the south from Moranbah.
It is a foundation volume that will contribute to the underpinning of the proposed gas pipeline from the North Bowen Basin into the Wallumbilla 'Hub', and for the development of Blue Energy’s Bowen tenements.

INPEX FIFO workforce to live permanently in WA by 2023
Premier of Western Australia, Mark McGowan, has welcomed a decision by INPEX to transition its interstate fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) workforce to a Western Australian based model.
The company announced that all employees working on INPEX's offshore Ichthys LNG facility, located approximately 220 kilometres offshore of Western Australia, will have to live in Western Australia by the end of 2023.
The decision comes after repeated calls from the State Government for Eastern States-based FIFO workers to relocate to Western Australia.

AIE and Jemena sign critical gas pipeline deal
Australian Industrial Energy Pty Ltd (AIE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with energy infrastructure company, Jemena, to connect the $250 million Port Kembla Gas Terminal (PKGT) with the Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP), with the project on track to supply more than 75 per cent of NSW’s gas needs by the end of 2022.
As part of the MOU, Jemena intends to construct a 12-kilometre underground pipeline capable of transferring gas from the PKGT directly into the EGP – the major natural gas arterial between Victoria and NSW.

Operations begin at 88 Energy’s Hickory-1 well in Alaska
Well operations have commenced at the Hickory-1 well, with well bore preparations complete and perforation of the Upper SFS zone to begin ahead of fracking and flow testing.
The Hickory-1 well is located within 88 Energy’s Project Phoenix acreage, directly adjacent to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and the Dalton Highway.
After the Upper SFS zone is tested, the company plans to test the SMD-B zone.
Each zone will be independently isolated, stimulated and flowed to the surface using a nitrogen lift to assist in the efficient cleanup of the well.

TotalEnergies expands its presence in the Orange Basin
TotalEnergies has signed, together with its partner QatarEnergy, an agreement to acquire participating interests in Block 3B/4B, offshore South Africa, from Africa Oil South Africa, Azinam (a wholly owned subsidiary of Eco Atlantic Oil and Gas) and Ricocure.
Following completion of the transaction, TotalEnergies will hold a 33 per cent participating interest in Block 3B/4B and assume operatorship, while QatarEnergy will hold a 24 per cent interest.

The Trion oil and gas project has received approval for its Social Impact Assessment from the Mexican Ministry for Energy.
Located in the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 2,500 metres, approximately 180 kilometres off the Mexican coastline, Trion is a greenfield development that would represent the first oil production from Mexico’s deep water.
