DENMARK — BlueNord ASA has announced a new development in the ongoing Tyra Redevelopment Project, following a technical issue that has impacted the project’s timeline.
The company reported that while hook-up and commissioning work on the Tyra West and Tyra satellite fields have been successfully completed, a problem has arisen with the low-pressure (LP) compressor transformer.
TotalEnergies, the project operator, has confirmed that immediate actions have been taken to address the issue and initiate repairs.
All teams and external suppliers have been fully mobilised to resolve the problem.
Despite this setback, efforts to test and commission the facility are continuing, with the aim of partially resuming production from Tyra II during the summer of 2024.
As a positive development, the Harald field is expected to resume production shortly, although it will initially support the Tyra commissioning process, resulting in only minor additional export volumes.
BlueNord has reiterated its previously communicated timeline, maintaining that plateau production from Tyra II is still expected in Q4 2024.
The company is working on intermediate solutions to mitigate the impact of the delay.
This latest update follows a series of announcements regarding the Tyra Redevelopment Project.
On May 6, 2024, BlueNord reported that the transformer for the Intermediate Pressure (IP) gas compressor required repairs, which would affect the timing of the ramp-up to maximum technical capacity.
The ongoing technical issues have prompted BlueNord to review its Q2-Q4 2024 production guidance.
The company is expected to provide revised guidance in the near future.
TotalEnergies issued a REMIT notification on July 8, 2024, providing further details on the project’s status.
