Galilee Energy Ltd. has entered into a cooperation agreement with Louisiana-based Kitty Hawk LLC to support the development of the Zydeco gas project in the Gulf Coast Basin, US.
Under the agreement, Kitty Hawk will support Galilee through the provision of proprietary sub-surface data and technical expertise covering the project and nearby exploration opportunities.
Galilee said technical support from Kitty Hawk will allow the company to optimise project drilling and to jointly deliver follow-up opportunities.
Galilee CEO Joseph Graham said: “We are very excited to have secured the technical and commercial expertise of the Kitty Hawk team.
“This agreement provides us with additional data and subsurface insights to optimise project drilling, as well as identifying low risk step out drilling opportunities near the project.
“Working with a proven partner in Louisiana provides Galilee the opportunity to turbocharge its capability and growth prospects.”
The Zydeco project comprises a total of 325.3 acres of mineral lease area in the Acadia Parish, Louisiana. The project contains a gas/condensate discovery and is drill-ready.
Galilee said the project is a low-risk development with a proven gas and condensate filed. It is also a simple low-cost risk production with existing sealed roads and gravel tracks.
Galilee is targeting less than six months to production from spudding of the well.
