Galilee Energy Ltd. has reached its final major pre-spud milestone at the Zydeco-1 prospect in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, with the drilling derrick now successfully raised to vertical.
The arrival and erection of the RFC Drilling Rig 103 over the precise well centre marks the transition from site preparation to final operational readiness. Ahead of the derrick raise, the project team safely completed structural groundwork, including conductor pipe installation, cellar preparation, and precise survey alignment checks.
The high-impact Zydeco-1 conventional well is on track to spud in the first week of July. It will target the Upper and Lower Tweedel formations within a proven Gulf Coast gas-condensate fairway.
Armed with modern 3D seismic data, Galilee is targeting an unrisked prospective resource of up to 13.7 billion cubic feet of gas (BCFG) and 610,000 barrels of condensate.
In the event of a commercial discovery, the company plans to fast-track development by tying into abundant local infrastructure, paving a clear pathway to initial production within six months of drilling.

The Louisiana well serves as the opening execution point for Galilee’s broader US expansion strategy.
Backed by its specialised advisory board, the company aims to establish a scalable Gulf Coast footprint focused on low-risk development, swift cash-flow generation, and repeatable regional acquisitions funded by near-term production success.
