Tamboran Resources has successfully completed the 2025 Shenandoah South drilling program, the largest ever undertaken in the Beetaloo Basin.
The campaign comprised the batch drilling of the Shenandoah South-4H (SS-4H), -5H and -6H wells, each completed with a target lateral length of 10,000 feet.
All three wells have been cased and suspended in preparation for upcoming stimulation activities.
Tamboran Resources Corporation Chairman and Interim CEO, Richard Stoneburner, said: “We are proud to have delivered the largest drilling program ever conducted in the Beetaloo Basin, which included batch drilling of three wells at the Shenandoah South 2 well pad.
“The wells are crucial to supplying gas to the Northern Territory network under the long-term Gas Sales Agreement with the Northern Territory government, with first gas sales on track for mid-2026.
Stoneburner said the three wells were completed ahead of schedule, achieving an average drilling time of under 27 days and remaining within the 35-day forecast.
He added that the adoption of advanced US drilling technology had enhanced operational learnings and delivered record performance across the Beetaloo campaign.
“The three wells have now been cased and suspended,” said Stoneburner.
“The SS-4H well is planned to be stimulated in 4Q 2025, with the remaining two wells, plus the reinforced SS-3H well, to be stimulated in 1H 2026.”
Stoneburner said the company looks forward to partnering again with Liberty Energy for a 60-stage stimulation program on the SS-4H well and aims to deliver an IP30 flow test from its first two-mile lateral in the coming months.
The program achieved an average spud-to-total depth (TD) of 26.7 days, with drilling and casing completed within the 35-day forecast.
Tamboran reported increased efficiency driven by the use of new Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR) anti-vibration drilling technology, which enabled the company’s fastest horizontal section drilled to date in the Mid Velkerri B Shale — reaching more than 1,100 metres (3,603 feet) in a single day in the SS-6H well.
Tamboran plans to complete the SS-4H well in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The well will undergo up to 60 stimulation stages across the full 10,000-foot horizontal section using Liberty Energy’s (NYSE: LBRT) modern hydraulic stimulation fleet.
Following completion, the SS-4H well is expected to undergo a 30-day flow test before being shut-in for future gas sales.
