Jemena reverses pipeline to enhance Victoria’s gas supply
Energy infrastructure company, Jemena, is planning to reverse the 797-kilometre Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) — potentially sending up to 300 TJ/d of gas south from New South Wales into Victoria.
The EGP, commissioned in 2000, traditionally brought gas from Bass Strait to the New South Wales and Sydney market, supplying over 70 per cent of gas across New South Wales at times.
The reversal project aims to make the EGP bi-directional, allowing it to deliver 200TJ/d south from Port Kembla Energy Terminal (PKET) — owned by Squadron Energy — by Winter 2026.
With PKET over 90 per cent complete, it is Austr... more
Strike signs Walyering gas transportation agreement with APA
Strike has signed a two-year gas transportation agreement (GTA) with APA Group Pty Ltd, enabling the delivery of 10 TJ/d into the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) from the Walyering gas processing facility. This will be facilitated through a new inter-pipeline connection at Mondarra, currently under construction and commissioned by APA.
This infrastructure is expected to be operational by late 2024.
This agreement provides Strike access to the significantly larger and more active market connected to the DBNGP, where approximately 95 per cent of daily gas in Western Australia is sold and cons... more

Equinor makes gas discovery in the Norwegian Sea
Equinor and partners Wintershall Dea and Petoro have made a commercial gas discovery in production licence 1128 estimated at between two and eleven billion standard cubic metres of recoverable gas, or about 12.6-69.2 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Exploration wells 6605/1-2 S&A in the Norwegian Sea were drilled by the Deepsea Stavanger drilling rig.
The Obelix Upflank discovery was made some 23 kilometres south of the Irpa gas discovery, and 350 kilometres west of Sandnessjøen.
