Strike Energy Limited has been selected as the successful bidder for Perth Basin block L20-3, resulting from the WA Petroleum Acreage Release 1 of 2020. The Queensland Government has given the ‘green light’ to a new Surat and Bowen Basin project which will provide more gas for the domestic market. Santos has been granted an Authority to Prospect (ATP) over a 764 square kilometre parcel of land 65 kilometres east of Surat in the gas-rich Bowen and Surat Basins. New five-year pipeline services deal awarded by Chevron Australia

EnerMech has been awarded a five-year contract by Chevron Australia to provide a range of integrated services to its Western Australian oil and gas facilities. The agreement will see EnerMech continue to deliver pipeline services including pipe cleaning, nitrogen purging and process plant drying, integrity leak and pressure testing, hydraulic hose integrity management and specialist hydraulic services. Lightsource bp today announced that through a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Snowy Hydro, its West Wyalong solar farm will supply renewable energy to 88 of bp’s service stations across New South Wales. CleanCo and Senex sign new gas sales agreement

Queensland Government-owned electricity generation and trading company, CleanCo, has secured a new deal with Senex Energy Limited for the supply of gas to the Swanbank E gas-fired power station in 2022. The one-year agreement will see 2.55 petajoules (PJ) of natural gas supplied from Senex’s Atlas operation, 20 kilometres south-west of Wandoan, to CleanCo’s highly efficient 385 megawatt (MW) Swanbank E gas-fired power station via the Roma-Brisbane pipeline. CNOOC Limited, one of China’s largest producers of offshore crude oil and natural gas, has announced that it has made a large-sized oil and gas discovery at Bozhong 13-2 in Bohai Bay. The Bozhong 13-2 structure is located in the south-western Ring of Bozhong Sag in the Bohai Bay (one of the three major bays of the Bohai Sea, the northwestern and innermost gulf of the Yellow Sea) with an average water depth of about 23.2 metres. Well operations have commenced at the Hickory-1 well, with well bore preparations complete and perforation of the Upper SFS zone to begin ahead of fracking and flow testing. The Hickory-1 well is located within 88 Energy’s Project Phoenix acreage, directly adjacent to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and the Dalton Highway.
