Woodside Energy has released its 2023 Social Contribution Impact Report, showcasing its commitment to supporting community development globally and investing in opportunities important to host communities.
The report highlights Woodside’s investment of A$33.3 million in strategic partnerships, philanthropic programs, employee volunteering, and mandatory contributions, aimed at measuring the impact of these initiatives.
Woodside CEO Meg O’Neill stated: “Woodside understands the importance of supporting the communities where we live and work.
“Our 2023 Social Contribution Impact Report emphasises our commitment to investing in strategic partnerships that aim to create strong and sustainable communities.”
The report focuses on measuring impacts and highlights Woodside’s partnerships across its global portfolio through programs with a common focus on the environment, cultural heritage, education, employment, and liveability outcomes.
O’Neill added: “The report also demonstrates Woodside’s support has resulted in enhanced knowledge, more opportunities, and overall resilience in different communities.”
Woodside’s social contribution strategy is built on three key pillars: enhancing knowledge, fostering opportunities, and bolstering resilience in communities. The company aligns these efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Data on the impact of Woodside’s initiatives reveals significant outcomes. 94 per cent of Woodside’s partners reported an improved capacity or ability to deliver new programs, while 97 per cent reached more participants.
Additionally, 98 per cent of assessed participants reported being healthier, happier, or more comfortable as a direct result of Woodside’s support.
